Filtration equipment and cyclonesFiltration equipment and cyclones are used in various fields of industry to filter out the dusts generated by machining or transportation. These are typically metal, glass or stone dusts, fibres from the wood or paper industry, and the fractions of cereal flour or other grists that are generated by mixing, transportation, casting, welding or other work. As to size, these contaminants range from just a few micrometres to several millimetres and usually do not form a homogeneous mixture. Particles larger than 10 µm usually separate out from the air over a couple of hours by gravitational settling. Floating dust, however, involves a myriad of health risks, not to mention the accumulation of particles settling on machines and clogging their moving parts. Measures must therefore be taken to remove these particles from the air. Dust separators are most suitable for this task. These are available as isolated mobile appliances that can be placed close to the source of contamination, or as centralised equipment providing technological extraction by means of a ducting system designed for this purpose. The latter solution allows the system to cover several workstations. Their basic structure is the same: cyclones are round tanks that are conical at the bottom. The airflow is introduced to the tank tangentially, with centrifugal force separating the air from solid particulate matter, which then settles to the bottom. Multicyclones (more than one cyclone in the same airflow) and cyclone filters are used to clean and filter large volumes and uneven fraction sizes. We offer high-separation cyclones and cyclone filters for all fields of industry, including for special needs and in designs incorporating bags, cartridges or mats. Small isolated systems are always equipped with integrated fans. They are easy to use and may be fitted with flexible extraction arms. Fans required for ensuring the appropriate airflow in centralised systems may also be ordered separately, even in ATEX compatible formats. ATEX includes the use of a variety of materials and technical solutions that prevent or neutralise the occurrence of possible dust explosions by redirecting the energy from an explosion and by eliminating the generation of sparks.
